Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 June 2026
Duio (“we”, “us”) connects home cooks with people nearby. This policy explains what we collect and why. Duio does not process payments — payment is arranged directly between cook and client.
Information we collect
- Account info. Cooks provide a name, email, password, country, payment methods and an optional bio. Clients provide an email (passwordless sign-in by code).
- Orders. When you place an order we collect the name and phone number you enter, the dish, and quantity. Your phone number is shared with the cook only after they confirm the order.
- Location. With your permission we use your device location, or a postal code you enter, to show cooks near you. Cooks set a map location for their dishes.
- Content. Cooks may upload dish photos.
How we use it
To operate the marketplace: show nearby cooks, let clients place orders, let cooks manage dishes and orders, send sign-in codes, and keep your favourites and order history.
Service providers
We use third parties to run Duio: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Vercel Blob (photo storage), Resend (sign-in and notification emails), and OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (maps and postal-code lookup). They process data only to provide these services.
Sharing
We don’t sell your data. The only sharing is operational: a client’s name and (after confirmation) phone number are shown to the cook so they can arrange the order, and a cook’s public kitchen details are shown to clients.
Retention & your choices
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us. You can decline location access in your device settings.
Children
Duio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
